US Silver Star Medal, WWII

230,00

Very fine US Silver Star, in the form of a five-pointed star in gilt metal, measuring approximately 3.6 cm in diameter. It features a small silver star at the centre, surrounded by a laurel wreath and rays radiating from the centre.

The medal is suspended from a rectangular metal suspension loop with rounded corners. The ribbon is fitted with a slot brooch suspension system, characteristic of World War II-era manufacture.

The reverse bears the inscription “FOR GALLANTRY IN ACTION”.

It is accompanied by its regulation ribbon, approximately 3.6 cm wide, consisting of alternating Ultramarine Blue and white stripes, with a central Old Glory Red stripe.

The decoration is preserved in its original imitation leather case, characteristic of World War II-era manufacture. The interior is lined with cream-coloured material, with satin lining inside the lid and plush fabric in the lower section designed to hold the medal.

Complete set with its ribbon and lapel pin.

The case hinge has some play, causing the lid to become slightly misaligned when opening or closing. It can, however, be easily realigned by hand, and the case remains fully functional.
