German WWII canteen intended for Gebirgsjäger (mountain troops) or medical personnel (Sanitäter).
Marked ESB 40 (Eduard Sommerfeld, Berlin, 1940) on both the neck and the cap.
Very nice canteen complete with its painted aluminum cup, also marked by the same manufacturer.
The cover is made of felt, features four functional buttons, and is in good condition.
This canteen is fitted with a strap typical of mountain troops and medics.
Condition: Good overall condition, one dent on the bottom part, approx. 50% of the cup’s original paint remains.
