French Colonial Medal, Indochina War

Second type French colonial medal (1914-1962) with a single-sided suspension bar. Private-manufacture version, 2.5 cm in diameter. “BRONZE” hallmark on the edge.

The obverse of the medal features the effigy of the Republic, helmeted and crowned with laurels, with the inscription “République Française”.

The reverse shows a globe placed on a military trophy, with the legend “Colonial Medal”.

The 36 mm wide ribbon includes the clasp “Extrême Orient” (Far East), which was established by decree on August 5, 1946.
