Cast brass hilt with eighteen rows of scales, without rivets.

Straight crossguard with sand-textured finish, undecorated, and rounded quillons.

“Carp’s tongue” blade with two fullers and a central hollow grind.

Pommel bearing the rooster emblem of the July Monarchy, with its right claw resting on a globe.

Blackened leather scabbard with an off-center rear seam and two brass mounts. Brass locket fitted with a frog stud intended to receive a buff leather hanger.
