WW1 / WW2 British Family Grouping

432,00

A moving and well-preserved grouping belonging to the Barrett family, honouring two generations of British veterans who served during World War I and World War II.

This commemorative collection was assembled by a descendant of the family and includes medals, photos, police caps, dog tags, and various insignia.

Family History:

  • John Edward Barrett (great-grandfather):
Served during World War I, notably in the Royal Air Force. He contracted trench fever and was treated at a hospital in Rouen, France. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Inter-Allied Victory Medal.

  • John Lewis Barrett (grandfather, son of John Edward):
Also a World War I veteran, he served as a Lewis gunner in the Worcestershire Regiment. He was wounded in the left thigh by gunfire in 1918. Like his father, he received the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. In 1942, he was discharged (original telegram included).

  • Edward Daniel Reeve (maternal grandfather):
Served in World War I with The King’s (Liverpool) Regiment. His cap badge can be seen in the grouping.
