French Knight’s Cross of the Legion of Honour, Third Republic (1870–1940)

Silver five-pointed double-rayed star, finished with white enamel. The star is surrounded by a wreath composed of oak and laurel leaves enameled in light green.

The obverse features a gilt medallion bearing the effigy of the Republic, surrounded by a blue enameled ring inscribed “République Française 1870”.

The reverse displays two crossed French tricolor flags, also surrounded by a blue enameled ring with the motto “Honneur et Patrie”.
