Medal created in 1926 to reward soldiers who escaped the prisoner camps during the First World War, Alsatians-Lorrains who escaped from the Germans and the Prisoners Of War who escaped during the Second World War. The obverse of the medal features the effigy of the French Republic, while the reverse bears the inscription “Médaille des évadés” within a wreath of oak leaves. Bronze medal.
