Size: 7 1/8

Era: Third Republic / 1920s

During the First World War, private hat makers were prohibited from manufacturing metal helmets due to the risks associated with non-compliant metals. After the war, they were able to offer officers lighter helmets made of aluminum, felt, reinforced leather, or fiber, providing better comfort for reviews, ceremonies, and parades.
