French mounted artillery officer’s saber, model 1829. Brass hilt with a chiseled guard, featuring a knuckle bow and a wooden grip covered with leather and filigree, a short undecorated pommel, a floret chiseled quillon, and a guard piece chiseled with foliage. The blade is curved, manufactured by the Klingenthal factory and dated 1830, during the July Monarchy. The saber comes with a steel sheet scabbard with two suspension rings.
This 1829 model, intended for land artillery officers, was also adopted by the naval artillery, replacing the 1822 model due to space constraints.
