French Knight Cross of the Legion of Honour, Second Restoration Period (1815-1830)

Model 1815 Knight’s cross of the Legion of Honour in enameled silver.

The crown is adorned with small fleur-de-lis.

The cross is surrounded by oak and laurel leaves enamelled in light green (small chips on the enamel).

The center of the obverse features the profile of Henry IV with the inscription “HENRI IV ROI DE FRANCE ET DE NAVARRE.”

The center of the reverse of the insignia is decorated with three fleur-de-lis and the inscription “HONNEUR ET PATRIE.”

The decoration bears the hare’s head hallmark (1819-1838).

Enamel chips on the white branches visible in the photos. Tiny chips on the blue enamel in the center of the obverse.

The insignia comes with its original ribbon, which is in fairly good condition despite some sun fading.

A beautiful decoration in fairly good condition.

Dimensions: 7 cm x 4.5 cm (2.75 inches x 1.77 inches).
