L’Ordre du Nichan Iftikhar est une distinction honorifique tunisienne cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1835 par Hussein II Bey. Pendant le Protectorat fran\u00e7ais de Tunisie (1881-1956), cet ordre a continu\u00e9 d’exister et a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement utilis\u00e9 pour r\u00e9compenser aussi bien des Tunisiens que des Fran\u00e7ais et autres \u00e9trangers ayant contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement et \u00e0 l\u2019administration du pays sous la tutelle fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n

Les distinctions \u00e9taient d\u00e9cern\u00e9es par le Bey de Tunis, mais sous le contr\u00f4le des autorit\u00e9s fran\u00e7aises, en particulier du R\u00e9sident g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de France en Tunisie.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Ordre \u00e9tait attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 des fonctionnaires de l\u2019administration coloniale, notamment des officiers, des hauts responsables fran\u00e7ais et tunisiens, et des personnalit\u00e9s influentes.<\/p>\n

Il r\u00e9compensait des services exceptionnels rendus \u00e0 la Tunisie dans divers domaines (administration, arm\u00e9e, commerce, culture, diplomatie).<\/p>\n

De nombreux Fran\u00e7ais en poste en Tunisie ont re\u00e7u cette d\u00e9coration, ce qui a renforc\u00e9 son r\u00f4le comme un outil de prestige et de reconnaissance dans le cadre du Protectorat.<\/p>\n
