En particulier sur le front de l&rsquo;Est, les troupes allemandes utilisaient des chevaux pour transporter des marchandises, de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipement et des armes, surtout pendant les mois d&rsquo;hiver o\u00f9 la boue et la neige rendaient les routes impraticables pour les v\u00e9hicules.<\/p>\n<p>Les terrains montagneux des Balkans ont \u00e9galement vu un usage consid\u00e9rable des chevaux, car les v\u00e9hicules motoris\u00e9s avaient du mal \u00e0 se d\u00e9placer dans ces r\u00e9gions.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les derni\u00e8res phases de la guerre, alors que l&rsquo;Allemagne manquait de carburant et de v\u00e9hicules, l&rsquo;utilisation des chevaux a connu un regain, m\u00eame sur le front occidental notamment en Normandie.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\"
