La m\u00e9daille de guerre de l’Incident de Chine a \u00e9t\u00e9 institu\u00e9e par l’\u00c9dit Imp\u00e9rial n\u00b0 496 en juillet 1939. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9e aux soldats envoy\u00e9s en Chine jusqu’\u00e0 l’\u00e9t\u00e9 1945.<\/p>\n

La m\u00e9daille, en bronze et d’un diam\u00e8tre de 30 mm, porte l’inscription \u00ab\u00a0M\u00e9daille de guerre\u00a0\u00bb sur son agrafe de campagne. Sur le devant, elle repr\u00e9sente le \u00ab\u00a0yata-no-karasu\u00a0\u00bb, un corbeau l\u00e9gendaire \u00e0 trois pattes, plac\u00e9 sur des drapeaux crois\u00e9s de l’arm\u00e9e de terre et de la marine, avec des rayons de lumi\u00e8re derri\u00e8re et l’embl\u00e8me du chrysanth\u00e8me au-dessus.<\/p>\n

Le revers de la m\u00e9daille est orn\u00e9 d’un motif repr\u00e9sentant la Chine du nord, la Chine centrale et la mer Jaune, avec des montagnes, des nuages et des vagues dans un style classique chinois. L’inscription indique \u00ab\u00a0Incident de Chine\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Le 7 juillet 1937, un incident au pont Marco Polo pr\u00e8s de P\u00e9kin a d\u00e9clench\u00e9 l’escalade de l’invasion japonaise en Chine. Ce conflit non d\u00e9clar\u00e9, qualifi\u00e9 d'\u00a0\u00bbincident\u00a0\u00bb, s’est propag\u00e9 \u00e0 une grande partie de la Chine, causant des centaines de milliers de morts avant de se terminer avec la reddition du Japon en 1945.<\/p>\n

*Le yata-no-karasu est un corbeau rouge g\u00e9ant \u00e0 trois pattes, mythique, qui, selon la l\u00e9gende, a guid\u00e9 l’arm\u00e9e de l’empereur Jimmu Tenno \u00e0 travers les montagnes.<\/p>\n
