La medalla tiene un di\u00e1metro de 30 mm y est\u00e1 fabricada en una aleaci\u00f3n de bronce y aluminio. La medalla y su estuche est\u00e1n en muy buen estado.<\/p>\n

En el anverso, muestra el emblema del crisantemo junto con el sagrado puente doble que conduce a los jardines interiores del Palacio Imperial de Tokio. En el fondo se pueden ver representaciones del santuario ancestral, el santuario imperial y el palacio imperial.<\/p>\n

El reverso lleva inscripciones que se traducen como: \u00abMedalla conmemorativa del 2600\u00ba aniversario nacional\u00bb y \u00ab15\u00ba a\u00f1o de Showa\u00bb debajo.<\/p>\n

La cinta es de color violeta con ocho franjas rojas. El violeta simboliza el Gran Cielo, mientras que el rojo representa lealtad. Las ocho franjas significan el lema \u00abhakko-ichi-u\u00bb (las ocho partes del mundo en un universo).<\/p>\n

El 2600\u00ba aniversario de la fundaci\u00f3n de Jap\u00f3n se celebr\u00f3 en noviembre de 1940 para marcar los 2,600 a\u00f1os desde la fundaci\u00f3n legendaria de Jap\u00f3n por el emperador Jimmu, el primer emperador de Jap\u00f3n, en 660 a.C. Seg\u00fan la narrativa hist\u00f3rica tradicional de Jap\u00f3n, se cree que el emperador Jimmu ascendi\u00f3 al trono el 11 de febrero de 660 a.C., marcando el comienzo de la l\u00ednea imperial japonesa.<\/p>\n

En 1940, este hito fue conmemorado con celebraciones a gran escala en todo Jap\u00f3n, enfatizando el legado imperial del pa\u00eds, la unidad nacional y la identidad cultural.
