Gallardete de terciopelo verde del South Staffordshire Regiment, destinado a la corneta (Cornet).<\/p>\n

Presenta la corona, el nudo regimental y el nombre del regimiento bordados en hilo de canutillo de color.<\/p>\n

El gallardete est\u00e1 ribeteado con flecos en un lado (con varias p\u00e9rdidas) y cuenta con cuatro anillas de fijaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Marcaje en el reverso: \u00ab2nd Bn Cornet\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Estado:<\/strong> Bastante bueno, con desgaste propio del paso del tiempo.<\/p>\n

El South Staffordshire Regiment existi\u00f3 solamente 68 a\u00f1os, de 1881 a 1959.<\/p>\n

El 2.\u00ba Batall\u00f3n fue una de las primeras unidades brit\u00e1nicas en desembarcar en Francia en 1914 como parte del British Expeditionary Force. Combati\u00f3 en el frente occidental durante toda la Primera Guerra Mundial y obtuvo veintiocho honores de batalla.<\/p>\n

A partir de noviembre de 1941 fue convertido en unidad de infanter\u00eda aerotransportada en planeadores, integrada en la 1st Airlanding Brigade de la 1st Airborne Division. El batall\u00f3n particip\u00f3 especialmente en la operaci\u00f3n Market Garden y desempe\u00f1\u00f3 un papel importante en la batalla de Arnhem (17\u201325 de septiembre de 1944).<\/p>\n
