Saint Helena Medal in patinated bronze with its certificate awarded to Legrand Jean Joseph Tite, born in Toulon, France, on January 4, 1781, former First-Class Navy Surgeon under Napoleon.
Additionally, Surgeon Legrand was awarded the Legion of Honor at the rank of Chevalier on August 19, 1824, under the Second Restoration.

He served as a surgeon aboard:
- The corvette La Fauvette in 1797
- The frigate La Sérieuse in 1798
- The ship Trident from 1812 to 1814
- The frigate La Médée in 1815
- The frigate La Galathée / Galatée from 1815 to 1819
- The frigate Fleurs de Lys from 1820 to 1823
He sank with the frigate La Sérieuse during the Battle of Aboukir in Egypt on the night of August 1–2, 1798.
Captured on January 4, 1799 as a PoW.
Fought aboard the Trident against a British three-decker on February 13, 1814.
Furthermore, Surgeon Legrand served in naval hospitals during the epidemics of 1794 and 1795, as well as during the epidemic of General Ganteaume’s squadron in 1800 (Mediterranean Squadron?).
He was admitted as a member of the Academy of Sciences, Humanities, and Arts of Toulon on March 24, 1812.
