Hindenburg – Hitler Commemorative Medal

Patinated bronze commemorative medal struck to mark Hitler’s appointment as Reich Chancellor in 1933.

The obverse features the profile portraits of Hindenburg and Hitler, together with the dates 30 January 1933 and 5 March 1933, commemorating Hitler’s appointment as Chancellor and the German parliamentary elections of 1933.

The reverse depicts two clasped hands beneath the inscription: “Für ein freies geeintes und stolzes Deutschland – Hitler” (“For a free, united and proud Germany – Hitler”).
